His work centers around advancing cutting-edge computational techniques to address the quantum many-body problem in condensed matter physics. Wentzell specializes in a range of numerical methods, including Dynamical Mean-Field Theory, Continuous-time Quantum Monte Carlo, Exact Diagonalization, Functional Renormalization Group, and Diagrammatic Perturbation Theory. Beyond research, he is deeply passionate about modern open-source software development, particularly utilizing C++ and Python, with a strong focus on high-performance computing and parallel programming. Currently, Nils Wentzell leads the development of the TRIQS open-source software library at CCQ. He earned his M.Sc. in physics from RWTH Aachen University and completed their Ph.D. at the University of Tübingen in Germany.
