Simons Society of Fellows
Founded in 2014, the Simons Society of Fellows is a community of scholars that encourages intellectual interactions across disciplines and across research centers in the New York City area.
Composed of both Senior and Junior Fellows, the Society organizes weekly dinners, annual retreats, alumni conferences and career development workshops. It also encourages its Fellows to participate in regular lectures and conferences organized by the Simons Foundation.
Our Fellows
Senior Fellows
Senior Fellows are distinguished scientists based in New York City who provide mentoring and guidance to the Junior Fellows. They assist with the selection of the Junior Fellows and meet and interact with them regularly at the Simons Foundation and at weekly dinners.
Junior Fellows
Junior Fellows are outstanding early-career scientists, no more than two years after Ph.D. at the time of the appointment start date, who receive support from the foundation for up to three years to conduct independent research with no teaching obligations at a university in New York City. Junior Fellows are expected to be in residence in the New York City area during the academic year.
Emeritus Fellows
Emeritus Fellows are former Junior and Senior Fellows.
