Science, Society & Culture hosts two public event series: Presents and Presidential Lectures. While different in subject matter and target audience, both series aim to communicate transformational research, some of which is being done or is powered by the Simons Foundation. Presents and Presidential Lectures leverage the convening power of the Simons Foundation to bring people together for shared experiences at the intersection of science, society and culture.
Presents
Presents is a free events series that highlights the research done at the Simons Foundation in exciting and unexpected ways. Each event pairs one of our 200 in-house researchers with special guests to discuss how their work intersects with society and culture at large. It’s an opportunity to hear new perspectives that may challenge assumptions and stoke curiosity. We make space for attendees to meet interesting people, including researchers, who share a passion for ideas and discovery. Come for the conversation, stay for the connections. Read More
Presidential Lectures
Presidential Lectures are free public colloquia centered on four main themes: Biology, physics, mathematics and computer science, and neuroscience and autism science. These curated, high-level scientific talks feature leading scientists and mathematicians and are intended to foster discourse and drive discovery among the broader New York City area research community. We invite those interested in the topic to join us for this weekly lecture series. Read More
