Weiguang Mao, Ph.D.
Flatiron Research Fellow, Genomics, CCB, Flatiron InstituteWeiguang Mao joined the Center for Computational Biology’s Genomics Group in July 2022. Prior to joining, he received his Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the University of Pittsburgh (Joint Ph.D. Program with CMU), and his Bachelor of Science in Pure and Applied Mathematics at Tsinghua University. In his Ph.D. thesis, Weiguang developed several generative models to amplify the biological signals buried in the noisy bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data. While at the University of Pittsburgh, Weiguang was awarded the CPCB Outstanding Research Award and the GPSG Travel Grant.
