Philipp Dumitrescu joined the Center for Computational Quantum Physics in June 2018. His research focuses on characterizing strongly interacting quantum systems, using both analytic and numerical techniques. He is particularly interested in applying new quantum Monte Carlo techniques to study correlated electron systems and in exploring new phenomena in strongly out-of-equilibrium systems. Prior to coming to New York, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley and did his undergraduate studies at the University of Cambridge.
