Nicolas Morales Duran, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, CCQ, Flatiron Institute

Nicolas Morales Duran joined the Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ) as a Flatiron Research Fellow in September 2024. Nicolas received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he investigated the many-body physics of semiconductor moiré materials. He received his B.S. in physics and mathematics from Universidad de los Andes, in Colombia. Nicolas is interested in developing analytic and numerical approaches to understand exotic phases of matter that emerge in strongly correlated electron systems, including fractional quantum anomalous Hall states and quantum spin liquids.
