Lukas Muechler, Ph.D.
Penn State UniversityLukas Muechler joined Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Quantum Physics in July, 2018.His main interests are the electronic structure of both interacting and non-interacting molecules and crystals. The goal of his research at the CCQ is to develop a deeper understanding of the topological properties of these systems, e.g. to establish how one could understand chemical phenomena such as reaction rules from a topological perspective. Prior to joining the CCQ, Lukas obtained a PhD from Princeton University, where he worked with Roberto Car on the electronic structure of molecular and condensed phases.
