Jutta Rogal, Ph.D.
Research Scientist, Initiative for Computational Catalysis, Flatiron InstituteJutta Rogal joined the Flatiron Institute in November 2024 as a Research Scientist in the Initiative for Computational Catalysis (ICC). Previously, Jutta was a Heisenberg Fellow of the German Research Foundation with a research appointment at the Department of Chemistry at New York University and the Department of Physics at Freie Universität Berlin (Germany). Her research focuses on the development and application of enhanced molecular simulations approaches to capture the structure and dynamics of condensed-phase systems over a wide range of timescales. Jutta holds a Ph.D. in Physics and a Diploma in Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin. For her Ph.D. work performed at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, she was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal of the Max Planck Society and the Ernst Reuter Prize of FU Berlin. In 2016, Jutta was awarded a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation which she spent at New York University.
