Giovanni Verza, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, Cosmology X Data Science, CCA, Flatiron Institute

Giovanni Verza joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) as a Flatiron Research Fellow in September, 2024. His work focuses on large-scale structure cosmology, particularly on theoretical modeling and its application to data analysis, with a special focus on cosmic voids. He is involved in the Euclid (ESA) and Roman (NASA) surveys. His primary interest lies in investigating the fundamental physics of the universe through cosmology, studying their impact on various statistical properties of the large-scale structure of the universe.

Before joining the Foundation, he obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics in Milan. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Padua, he became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics at New York University (NYU).
