Dongwon “D.W.” Han was an inaugural member of CCA’s pre-doctoral fellows program. He studies the cosmic microwave background (CMB) to learn about the structure growth of the universe. D.W. has worked on various aspects of CMB data analysis, from generating extragalactic foreground simulations to removing the lensing distortion from the CMB observables. D.W.’s recent research focuses on the application of machine learning in cosmology and the effect of baryonic physics on weak lensing measurements. He is a member of the Atacama Cosmology Telescope, Simons Observatory and CMB-HD collaborations. He completed a doctorate in physics from Stony Brook University in 2021.

Since January 2022, D.W. has been a postdoctoral researcher in applied mathematics and theoretical physics at the University of Cambridge.
