Three women mathematicians were celebrated during the inaugural World Meeting for Women in Mathematics, or (WM)²

This 13-minute film, “Journeys of Women in Mathematics,”  shows the difficulties and triumphs of three women mathematicians from three different continents:

  • Neela Nataraj of India;
  • Aminatou Pecha Njiahouo of Cameroon; and
  • Carolina Araujo of Brazil.

The film, created by the International Mathematical Union’s Committee for Women in Mathematics and supported by the Simons Foundation, was screened on July 31, 2018, during the first World Meeting for Women in Mathematics, or (WM)², a satellite event to the 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians.
