Join Edit-a-Thons at Conferences to Improve Wikipedia Science
This year is the Wikipedia Year of Science, an initiative of the Wiki Education Foundation. One of its major goals is to engage and train scientists via a series of ‘edit-a-thons,’ workshops and invited talks at conferences throughout the year, presented in partnership with major scientific societies. During the edit-a-thons, conference attendees get the chance to learn the basics of Wikipedia editing, make substantive changes to Wikipedia articles within their area of expertise, and find out more about the Wiki Education Foundation’s classroom program.
The Simons Foundation is hosting these events in partnership with the Wiki Education Foundation. Below is a list of 2016 meetings at which the foundation has hosted or will host an edit-a-thon. Details about how to join upcoming events, as well as additional conferences, will be added as soon as they are available, so check this page periodically. Reminders will also be posted on the Simons Foundation Facebook page.
