Tom Kwan, M.S.

Predoctoral Fellow, Planet Formation, CCA, Flatiron Institute

Tom Kwan joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics as a Predoctoral Researcher in Fall 2024. He is a Ph.D. student at the University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on relativistic phenomena powered by compact objects, such as accretion onto black holes and jet launching. He conducts state-of-the-art, large-scale simulations by solving radiative transfer and magnetohydrodynamic equations to model a number of astrophysical systems, e.g. tidal disruption events and ultra-luminous X-ray sources.
