Ryan Canfield is a mentor in the 2024 SURFiN program. He is a Ph.D. student in Amy Orsborn’s lab at the University of Washington. Canfield holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the California Polytechnic State University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. His research focuses on the structure of movement encoding in the primate motor cortex. Canfield is the recipient of the Institute of Translational Health Sciences TL1 Training Grant.
