Roeland Wiersema, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, CCQ, Flatiron Institute

Roeland Wiersema is a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Quantum Physics (CCQ) at the Flatiron Institute. His research focuses on Neural Quantum States for simulating many-body systems. He is also interested in quantum dynamics and Riemannian optimization. Wiersema received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Waterloo in 2024 while working at the Vector Institute in Canada. Before that, he earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics at Radboud University in the Netherlands.
