Min Wu, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Mathematical Sciences, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Min Wu is an associate professor of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She received a B.S. in information and computational science from Nanjing University, China, in 2007, and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California, Irvine, in 2012. Before joining WPI, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique de l’École Normale Supérieure from 2013-2014, and as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University from 2015-2017. She researches the mechanics and regulation of growth in living systems via mathematical modeling and simulations. She has long-term continuing research on tissue growth and morphogenesis, has recently received an NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award to investigate cell wall growth in tip cells, and will collaborate with Flatiron Institute scientists on new growth problems during her sabbatical.
