Jackie Foltz
Stanford UniversityJackie Foltz is a student at Stanford University pursuing degrees in human biology and Spanish, with the goal of attending medical school. She is currently working under Amin Shakhawat in the Raymond Lab at Stanford Medical School. Her research examines the learning rules governing the induction of plasticity in the cerebrum and focuses on the correlations between in vivo optogenetic manipulation of the cerebellar circuitry and behavioral outputs in mice. Jackie is passionate about widening our understanding of motor learning so that we can optimize the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of learning disabilities. She also looks forward to supporting women and other underrepresented groups in STEM through her participation in the SCGB Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program.
