Fabian Kugler, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, CCQ, Flatiron InstituteFabian Kugler’s website

Fabian Kugler joined the Flatiron Institute in January 2023 as a Flatiron Research Fellow in the Center for Computational Quantum Physics. His research is focused on strongly correlated electrons in model systems as well as in quantum materials. He is also interested in method development, particularly in renormalization group based approaches with real-frequency resolution. In 2019, Kugler obtained his Ph.D. from LMU Munich, Germany, in Jan von Delft’s group. Thereafter, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers University, hosted by Gabriel Kotliar and funded by the Humboldt Foundation. Kugler has been named as a recipient of the Arnold Sommerfeld Ph.D. Prize of LMU Munich and the Otto Hahn Medal of the Max Planck Society.
