Christian Partmann, Ph.D.
Flatiron Research Fellow, Galaxy Formation, CCA, Flatiron InstituteChristian Partmann joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics as a Flatiron Research Fellow in October 2024. With high-resolution simulations of galaxies, he studies the formation, dynamics, growth, and feedback of massive black holes in local dwarf galaxies and the early Universe. A key focus of his research is the coevolution of massive black holes and star clusters, as well as their interaction with the complex, multiphase interstellar medium. Prior to joining CCA, Christian was a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) and completed his Master’s degree at the RWTH Aachen University with research stays at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Laboratoire Lagrange in Nice.
