Gaia
Gaia is a European Space Agency mission that is building the largest, most precise map of our galaxy by surveying nearly two billion objects. The many instruments on the Gaia spacecraft measure astrometry, photometry and spectroscopy for these sources, enabling a multi-dimensional view of the stars and structures in the Milky Way.
All data from Gaia are released publicly with no proprietary period by a data processing consortium of European and international institutions, including members of the CCA. Researchers at the CCA use data from Gaia to study a wide range of phenomena, from stellar physics and multiplicity to the large-scale dynamics of dark matter in the outskirts of the Galaxy.
