Title: The Local Gaseous Universe

Abstract: The gas in galaxies dictates the fate of their star formation and their total baryon census. In this talk, I will discuss the distribution of gas in and around galaxies in the Local Group using ultraviolet absorption line and hydrogen emission line observations. The circumgalactic medium of the Milky Way will be compared to other galaxies in the universe, and the gas within dwarf galaxies will be considered in the context of this medium and a potential Local Group medium. Finally, if there is time, I will present the findings thus far on the circumgalactic medium of gaseous local dwarf galaxies.
